Last updated: July 2026. This describes what Reachable actually collects and how it's used — plain language, no legal jargon.
From students applying: full name, phone number, email, sex, institution, state, network provider, a short reason for your application, and a photo of your student ID or admission letter.
From donors: name and email address only. Card and payment details are entered directly into Flutterwave's own secure checkout — Reachable's systems never receive, see, or store any payment or financial information at all.
From students who choose to share a video testimonial: a short video recording, and — if you're under 18 — a parent/guardian's name and contact information for consent purposes.
Your ID photo is used only to verify your student status through an AI verification check, and to detect duplicate or fraudulent applications.
Your phone number is used only to deliver your data/airtime voucher.
Video testimonials are never published automatically — a real person reviews every submission before anything is made public, and only your first name and institution are ever shown publicly.
We never sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We never publish your phone number, email, or full application details publicly — our live impact page shows only a first-initial and state for verified activity.
We do not collect, receive, or store any financial or payment data — no card numbers, no bank details. All payment processing happens entirely within Flutterwave, a licensed payment processor.
Uploaded ID photos and video submissions are stored in private, access-restricted storage — not publicly accessible by default. Application and donation records are protected by database-level access rules that prevent public read access. Only authorized Reachable administrators can view unverified or pending information.
You can request to see what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (including removing a previously published testimonial video), by contacting us at hello@reachabledata.com.
This page is a plain-language description of our actual data practices, written to be genuinely accurate rather than generic legal boilerplate. It is not a substitute for a policy reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and does not yet reflect a full legal review under Nigeria's Data Protection Act. If you have specific legal or compliance questions, please contact us directly.
